Functional Lab Testing

Once your GP or specialist has completed their pathology and ruled out everything on their side, we can offer additional functional testing to support optimal health outcomes and provide a fuller picture.

Functional lab testing is a valuable complementary service — not a replacement for your medical team, but an extra layer of insight when standard results haven't uncovered the full story. Testing is available across New Zealand and Australia.

Complementary to Your Existing Care

ANTA Registered

Your GP and specialists should always be your first port of call for pathology and diagnosis. Once they have completed their testing and ruled out conditions on their side, functional lab testing can provide additional insights for optimal health outcomes and a fuller picture. All functional tests are practitioner-ordered following a consultation to ensure the right tests are selected for your needs.

1

When Might Additional Testing Help?

If you've followed your medical team's advice and standard blood work has come back “normal” but you still don't feel right, functional testing may help fill in the gaps. Consider it if you experience:

Persistent fatigue

Sleeping well but still waking exhausted — additional testing may provide insights to support your GP's findings

Hormonal symptoms

Irregular cycles, PMS, perimenopause, acne, or mood swings where you'd like additional insights to complement your GP's assessment

Digestive concerns

Chronic bloating, reflux, food reactions, or irregular bowel movements that haven't resolved with basic treatment

Unexplained symptoms

Brain fog, skin issues, weight changes, or recurring infections without a clear cause from standard testing

Working Alongside Your Medical Team

Your GP Comes First

We always encourage you to follow your doctor's recommendations and complete any testing they've ordered. Your GP has the full picture of your medical history and their guidance is the foundation of your care.

We Fill the Gaps

If there are areas that standard testing hasn't covered — such as detailed gut analysis, comprehensive thyroid panels, or nutrient assessments — functional testing can provide additional insights to support your health journey.
